Margret, 43, is driving a bus in small villages on the edge of a major city. As a bunch of drunken teenage girls runs riot on her bus, she is taking action. In order to get control of that chaotic situation, she is showing the door to one of the girls who is travelling without a valid ticket. The place where she drops off the girl is an illuminated bus stop in a remote area.
The action creates consequences. Shortly thereafter, Margret comes to know that underage Jessica was raped at the particular bus stop. Margret will be suspended from work. Worse than the consequences concerning her employment, she suffers from a feeling of guilt – Margret’s daughter is of the same age as Jessica.
Without cease Margret feels confronted with that situation. Her direct environment and even her own family; everyone has a different opinion on what happened. Some people feel pity for Margret, some accuse her of being guilty, but nobody can help her.
Margret is isolating herself more and more. She starts to punish herself by getting caught while dodging the fare. She is as well sitting at the particular bus stop in the middle of the night – still, the feeling of salvation is missing.
A direct confrontation with Jessica shows her, she cannot make things undone. This awareness causes that Margret is taking control over her live again.
