The main character is a bookmark, stuck in a forgotten book. Both are connected by chance, in a life marked by standstill in a deserted room. One day a window is pressed open by a gust of wind, knocking over the book and blowing the bookmark onto the table. As they become separated, the journey begins. While the bookmark watches from a distance, the wind catches the pages, turning them into ocean waves. Unfolding hands and feet, the bookmark is swept back into the book. With a surfboard taken from the book, the character is given the opportunity to experience its environment in a new way – wipeouts, washouts and nosedives in a wild ocean follow. Just as our hero is willing to resign, the ocean carries it higher and higher on a wave frozen in time – they become one. The wave breaks, releasing everything back into motion. The bookmark enjoys the ride of its life, carving and floating its way in and out of tubes, until the last page is reached. The book cover closes with a snap, spitting out the surfer. The journey through this episode of its life is over. As the protagonist tries to get back into the book, light reveals other parts of the room, fully packed with bookshelves. It faces endless challenges in its newly gained freedom.

Le personage principal est un marque-page, coincé dans un livre abandonné. Le personnage et le livre sont liés par le hasard, dans une vie inconsistante et vide, à l'intérieur d'une chambre déserte. Un jour, une bourrasque ouvre la fenêtre, faisant tomber le livre et éjectant le marque-page sur la table. Ils se séparent, et alors le voyage commence. À distance, le marque-page regarde l'air qui s’engouffre dans les pages, les tranformant en vagues océaniques. Plié et poussé par le vent, il est emporté à l’intérieur du livre. Grâce à une planche de surf sortie d'entre les pages, le personage a la possibilité d’appréhender son environnement d’une nouvelle manière - mais il est alors malmené, submergé, noyé par les vagues. Au moment même où notre héros est sur le point d’abandonner, l’océan se met à le hisser de plus en plus haut, jusqu’à un arrêt-sur-image – ils ne font plus qu’un. La vague se rompt, remettant tout en movement. Le marque-page savoure cette nouvelle vie rapide et exalante sur les vagues, dérivant et flottant à sa guise, porté par les rouleaux, jusqu’à atteindre la dernière page. La couverture du livre se rabat brusquement, recrachant le surfeur. Le voyage est fini, un chapitre se clôt. Lorsque le protagoniste tente à nouveau de se glisser entre les pages, la lumière découvre le reste de la chambre, remplie d’étagères pleines de livres. Le marque-page fait alors face à une infinité de défis, dans sa liberté nouvellement gagnée.
