"Ara's Records" is an authentic portrait of a man carrying on a business that has become pretty uncommon nowadays: a recordshop. His name is Ara, and he tells quite randomly about his love for the music, for records, about special clients, the good old days and not least life in general. This very personal, sometimes humorous and sometimes affecting story is accompanied by a selection of more or less old records, taking Ara's words in the context of the music history. The artistic shortfilm was made by taking about 1000 photos and arranging them to an extra-long panorama. By slowly filming this photocollage from the left to the right, it starts to tell an ongoing story. At every point in time the words and the music are closely associated with the picture.

"Aras Schallplatten" ist das authentische Portrait eines Mannes, welcher ein heutzutage sehr selten gewordenes Geschäft betreibt: Einen Schallplattenladen. Der Mann heißt Ara und erzählt scheinbar ziellos von seiner Liebe zur Musik, zur Schallplatte, von speziellen Kunden, von guten alten Zeiten und nicht zuletzt einfach aus dem Leben. Diese sehr persönliche, teils humorvolle und teils rührende Geschichte wird begleitet von einer Auswahl mehr oder weniger alter Platten, welche Aras Worte in einen musikgeschichtlichen Kontext stellen. Der Kurzfilm entstand aus ca. 1000 Fotos, welche horizontal angeordnet ein sehr langes Panorama bilden. Indem dieses Fotocollage langsam und von links nach rechts "abgefilmt" wird, entsteht eine fortlaufende Geschichte. Sprache und Musik sind immer sehr eng mit dem jeweiligen Bildausschnitt verbunden.
