The short starts off with a soul descending into the fiery chasms of Hell. Along the way it crashes into the Infernal Machine and triggers the conflict our hellish heroes have to overcome. The heroes, the surly Foreman and the demonic mass of energy that is the Minion, emerge from their headquarters and make their way to the Machine's repair panel. Arriving to find the elevator out of service, the Foreman ponders his next move. The Minion, oblivious to the situation, plays a game of 'Catch The Wrench” and manages to kill himself by accident. He respawns high up in the air and barely misses the platform where the repair panel is located. Considering this fortuitous turn of events, the Foreman decides that killing the Minion juuuuust right is the best way to get to the platform. Many bonks to the Minion's head later, the Machine falters and suffers a minor explosion, launching several loose pipes straight towards the Foreman. In a heartwarming scene of selflessness , the Minion saves him but is crushed in the process. He respawns of course, and totters back, ready to receive yet another blow. The Foreman, upon witnessing the Minion's loyalty, has a change of heart and bonks his own head instead. By sheer luck he manages to land on the platform but discovers that he has left the wrench behind. Bolting back to the ledge, he calls for the Minion to toss the wrench up. The Minion makes a genuine effort, though in vain, and in a comical turn of events winds up next to the Foreman, the wrench still at the bottom. Fresh out of ideas, the Foreman and Minion share a brief moment and the Machine finally explodes.
