There is one thing from his tumultuous teenage years that Joseph can never forget - Kate. On the path home in the last week of school, he sees her playing basketball at a place where she has never been before. Could it be fate? Is this his chance to finally tell her how he has been secretly in love with her for the past three years?
As Joseph impels himself to talk to her before it’s too late, we discover that Kate is doing the exact same thing, calling out for a sign from a higher being. Just when both of them are about to give up, fate seems to intervene. And then their eyes meet.
At the edge of the basketball court, with only a chain-link fence between them, Joseph and Kate have their very last conversation. As they part, the two of them realise that no matter what providence may bring, the most impassable barriers are created within oneself.
