KALIBER35 Munich International Short Film Festival 2015

Festival dates: 18 to 24 June 2015

Submission deadline: 31 December 2014

Description:

The renowned ‘KALIBER35 Munich International Short Film Festival’ will be returning for its tenth edition this coming June. Every Summer the festival brings the world’s best contemporary short films to the heart of the Bavarian capital. The 35 selected films in the ‘International Competition’ (all non-German language films and Bavarian premieres) are divided into five categories according to their taste; SWEET, SOUR, SALTY, BITTER and UMAMI.

Filmmakers with a competing film will be personally invited to attend the festival in Munich. There they will have the opportunity to network with local as well as international film professionals, promote their work to a German audience and relax in the nicest beer gardens in the world!

International directors are also encouraged to take part in the KURZ&KNAPP (SHORT&TIGHT) Kinosportcup (5th edition in 2015), where professional as well as amateur filmmakers are challenged to write, shoot, edit and complete a short film in just 35 hours.

The winning films from the past three years were:

2014: “My Guide” by Barnabás Tóth

2013: “Welcome and…Our Condolences” by Leon Prudovsky

2012:“Superman, Spiderman or Batman” by Tudor Giurgiu;
