It is now time to apply for the 15th Edition of the Rome Independent Film Festival.

The 30th of June 2016 is the deadline for submitting works to participate to the 15th Edition of the RIFF (Roma Independent Film Festival) that will take place in Rome in autumn 2016.

This year as well, filmmakers from all over the world will have the possibility to present their original works as a first-ever preview in the section “New Frontiers” dedicated to the first work of an artist. For the last 6 years, RIFF has collected and presented in prime time, works coming from all over the world, giving particular attention to Italian productions.
The selected films will be over 150 (in the previous edition RIFF received over 2000 films from more than 50 countries)
The competing sections are:
Feature Films (Italian and International feature films);
New Frontiers (first time director);
Documentary Films (Italian and International documentaries);
Short Films (Italian and International);
International Student Films (for cinema students);
Animation;
Screenplays & Subjects;
The program of the RIFF 2016 will be enriched by retrospectives and seminars on different aspects of the Indie film industry. At the end of the Festival, the winners will be presented with RIFF Awards worth over 50.000 €.
With the contribution of the Ministry for Cultural Activities (DGC) and the Directorate of Culture, Performing Art and Sport of the District of Lazio, every year the Roma Independent Film Festival is recording more and more appreciations and proves to be an important meeting for the Independent Cinema.

Aperte le iscrizioni al Rome Independent Film Festival
Online il bando di concorso
Sino al 30 giugno 2016 sarà possibile presentare opere cinematografiche per partecipare alla XV° edizione del RIFF - Rome Independent Film Festival - che cambia data per questa edizione posticipando il festival in autunno.

Il RIFF offre ai filmakers di tutto il mondo l’occasione per presentare in Italia film originali in anteprima. In particolare, la sezione New Frontiers, che già da otto anni raccoglie e presenta opere prime e seconde, dà specifico rilievo alla produzione italiana e sarà occasione di incontro e scoperta di nuovi talenti cinematografici. Il festival, inoltre, prosegue nella mission di far conoscere e distribuire le pellicole in gara. Per i vincitori, infatti, è prevista una programmazione dedicata presso il Nuovo Cinema Aquila di Roma.
Novità dell’edizione 2016 il nuovo contest SOS (short online streaming), che si svolgerà esclusivamente sul web in simbiosi con il festival. Dedicato ai registi per opere di cortometraggio il contest verrà ospitato sul portale indiefilmchannel.tv: il cortometraggio più votato si aggiudicherà un contratto per la distribuzione VOD (video on demand) di mille euro. Tutte le principali opere presentate al RIFF saranno, al termine del festival, visibili in modalità VOD sempre sul portale indiefilmchannel.tv.
Le opere selezionate per il concorso saranno oltre 150. Nell’edizione 2015 sono state inviate al Festival oltre duemila tra pellicole, file e DVD, provenienti da più di 50 paesi.
Le sezioni in concorso sono 7:
Feature Films (lungometraggio italiano e internazionale / opere prime e seconde);
Documentary Films (italiano e internazionale);
Short Films (italiano e internazionale);
International Student Films (scuole di cinema);
Animation (animazione);
Screenplays & Subject (sceneggiature & soggetti);
Il programma del RIFF 2016 sarà arricchito da retrospettive e seminari che affronteranno vari aspetti della cinematografia indie. Paesi ospiti per questo anniversario gli Stati Uniti d’America e la Spagna. Al termine del Festival verranno assegnati i RIFF Awards per un valore di oltre 50.000 Euro. Con il contributo del Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo - DGC e il contributo dell’Assessorato alla Cultura, Arte e Sport della Regione Lazio, il RIFF registra ogni anno crescenti apprezzamenti riconfermandosi importante appuntamento per il cinema indipendente.
